1940s Day a spectacular success!

23 Nov
As part of our 75th anniversary celebrations, we recently held a 1940s Day

The pupils and staff all dressed up in 1940s clothes and we were joined by the wonderful volunteer re-enactors from Spirit of the Homefront who brought amazing characters, resources and artefacts with them, including an Anderson shelter!  Our caterers, Brookwood Partnership, created themed menus for lunch and we recreated the morning run around the Cathedral that choristers used to do everyday.

The whole thing was a huge success, from the the class room activities, to the talks by grandparents and our own Mr Binns, and the multiple different ways of cooking with Spam!
