Our Sixth Form students celebrated success in A Level results, marking yet another year of excellent academic and personal achievements.
Susan Hannam, Headmistress, said: "I am thrilled for our students. As a non-selective school, we cater for a wide range of abilities, from those who are academically gifted to students with learning challenges. It is wonderful to see them achieve success and gain places on the courses of their choice.”
While most students will be progressing to university courses, some have chosen to go straight into employment. Tom Hartshorn will study English Literature at Exeter University alongside Lauren James who will study Modern Languages. Molly Biddle will read English at Brighton while Rachael Carver will study Geography at Staffordshire University. Joseph Peters will study Computer Game Design at Derby University and Jordan Williams will go to Keele to study Education. Amy Butler achieved AAB and will study Law at York University; and Sania Ahmed, who also achieved AAB, will go to Birmingham University to study Business with Languages.
“Exam results are only part of the equation – universities and employers are looking for more than A Level grades, and our students have what they want, namely the soft skills such as excellent communication, teamwork and leadership,” added Tony Sherrington, Head of Sixth Form.
Susan Hannam continued: “Our mission is to educate the whole person, ensuring that when they leave us, our students have the academic qualifications, skills, confidence and motivation to secure their pathway to very bright futures. We offer a unique mix of small class sizes, outstanding teaching and training in ethical leadership; when you add in students who work hard and incredibly supportive families, we have a recipe for success.”
