Choral Opportunities
Singing has formed a key part of Christian worship for 1,400 years. Today’s choral services represent a unique tradition upheld by Britain’s historic cathedrals – a glorious heritage of church music that is one of the nation’s greatest cultural treasures.
The Cathedral Choristers and Sixth Form Choral Scholars of the Lichfield Cathedral Choir are all educated at the School.
Enthusiasm, intelligence and potential are the keys to becoming a chorister – girls and boys are not expected to have a fully developed voice, nor is any formal singing experience necessary. Potential choristers need to be able to sing, to pitch notes when played on a piano and be interested in developing their musical ability. Enjoyment of singing and a willingness to work hard are far more important than experience.
