Amazing Maisie 2nd in UK in Pole Vault

Last Saturday, Maisie (Year 8) competed in pole vault at the National Age Group Championships in Sheffield against 14 of the best vaulters in the UK.

Each athlete will spend 2 years in each age group and despite being in year 1 of the U15s, Maisie held the lead for 2 rounds and after 3 hours of competition came 2nd overall in an incredibly close battle for the top spot, gaining her first National-level medal! 

This places Maisie 2nd on the current UK National Table.  What a fantastic achievement in this extremely demanding sport!
