Cannock & District Cross-Country
On Wednesday 9 October, LCS took a big cross-country team over to Chase Terrace for the first Cannock and District competition of the year. In recent years, we have done exceptionally well at these competitions and the amount of pupils taking part has increased. At the competition last week, we were one of only two schools who had teams of four in every race and there were some fantastic achievements across the board. Some of the stand out achievements from the competition are below:
Year 7 Girls – Lucia 12th and Isla 17th.
Year 7 Boys – Hugo 12th and Jeremy 13th.
Year 8/9 Girls – Freya 2nd, Rosie 8th, Quinn 12th, Ava 13th, Katie 14th, Bella 16th and Isabella 19th.
Year 8/9 Boys – Ben 13th and Louis 14th.
Year 10/11 Girls – Imogen 3rd, Daisy 5th, Ruby 7th and Holly 8th.
Year 10/11 Boys – Otto 8th, Josh 9th, Devan 13th and Harry 15th.
The Year 8/9 girls team finished in a terrific 2nd place behind King Edwards, missing out of first place by 2 points. The Year 10/11 girls team finished joint 1st with King Edwards on 24 points.
With some of the amazing performances above, we are hopeful that many of our pupils will be selected to compete at the Staffordshire Schools Cross-Country Championships in February 2025, so watch this space.
