Fantastic fundraising by Ophelia
Ophelia is taking on an amazing personal challenge this month. Having recently learned more about charity in class and completing the sponsored swim her class undertook last year in memory of Rob Burrows, Ophelia wanted to do more and, after weighing up her options, she decided to do something related to running.
Ophelia's choice of charity was an easy one - she has watched her grandad suffer and decline with Parkinson’s disease. Ophelia understands that it is degenerative and that there is no cure, so she wanted to raise funds for scientists to help them find a cure and make her grandad better.
Ophelia is, therefore, taking part in the ‘Time to Run’ 30 miles in 30 days challenge throughout November.
Ophelia gave herself a target of £150. On day one she smashed this and, six days into the challenge, has raised over £700.
