IS Midlands Athletics - Juniors

Catching up with recent athletics results, just before May half term we took a team of Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils to Leicester to compete in the School's first Independent Schools Association Junior Athletics Championships. It was a great event, with more than 30 independent primary schools taking part and a fantastic experience for our pupils.  

Jeremy (Year 6) performed brilliantly in the long jump and the high jump, where he finished 3rd in both events, picking up two bronze medals. Emilia (Year 5) ran a brilliant race to finish in 2nd place in the 600m, taking the silver medal. This also meant that Emilia qualified for the Independent Schools National Athletics event later in the year.  All of our pupils did exceptionally well, and the cheering for, and encouragement of, each other was brilliant. We were definitely the loudest school there!
