Introducing Miss Ellis

Wraparound Care Manager at Longdon

At the start of this term, we launched a new wraparound care service at Longdon designed and delivered by LCS staff and called School's Out Club.

Miss Ellis leads the new team which is providing before- and after-school care to Longdon pupils from 7.30am to 8.30am and from 3.45pm to 6.00pm on week days during term time.  In addition, we will be running Holiday Clubs at Longdon for primary-aged pupils up to and including Year 6.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am really enjoying managing the ‘School’s Out Club’ Wraparound Care at LCS. It has been delightful to meet the children and parents who are using the service and we are thrilled with the feedback we have received.  Being a qualified Primary School Teacher, I have a vast experience of working with young children (18 years and counting!) and it is exciting to apply my knowledge and expertise to running the Club successfully.

With my team of Wraparound Staff, we provide a welcoming, relaxing and inclusive environment where children can chill out after a busy day of learning. Each day there is a variety of activities for children to choose from, including crafting, small world, fine motor skills, outdoor games, imaginative and sensory play and much more!  The Club is as child-centred as possible and we take the children’s personal interests into consideration and encourage their suggestions for things they would like to do at Wraparound; after all it is their Club and their wind-down time.

Throughout the academic year, we will have different themed days based around the equality, diversity and inclusion calendar where we will celebrate a variety of internationally-recognised dates such as World Kindness Day and World Children’s Day.

We will also be running Holiday Clubs during the school breaks for Primary pupils where both staff members and external providers will be facilitating themed days ranging from sports, Forest School, scientific exploration, Geocaching, archaeology, animals, music, drama, arts and crafts and so much more!  We have so many exciting ideas that we can’t wait to bring to life for the children to enjoy!

More details about Holiday Clubs in the Christmas holiday will be released soon!

In the meantime, the Wraparound Team and I look forward to meeting all of your wonderful children at our breakfast and after-school sessions.
