Mason Trophy triumph

Following on from the Staffordshire Schools County Athletics Championships, Maisie (Year 7) qualified to represent Staffordshire at the prestigious Mason Trophy competition. This event sees eight counties come together for a fantastic competition, with a high quality field of athletes.

Due to taking gold at the County Championships, Maisie once again competed in the Year 8/9 pole vault competition as a Year 7 student. The conditions were awful, which made it very difficult to get any grip on the pole. Fortunately, Maisie managed to cope with the conditions better than any other athlete and although her height wasn’t as good as the previous week, she still managed to win the competition and take home another gold medal.  An amazing achievement at such a big event. Well done, Maisie.
