Mythology competition open

The Classical Association is running a Mythology Competition for children in Key Stage 2 and 3.

For pupils in Yeas 5 & 6, the competition is centred on the story of the Wooden Horse, used by the Greek army to enter the city of Troy secretly and subsequently win the war.

For pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9, the competition is based on the story of Rome being founded by  twin brothers Romulus and Remus, who were abandoned in the wild and found by a female wolf who cared for them until they were rescued by a shepherd and his wife.

All pupils are invited to submit a creative response to the relevant story and submit one of the following:

  1. A piece of creative writing (max. 500 words)
  2. A piece of art (any medium, but submission should be a .jpg image)
  3. An animation that can be silent, spoken or sung and created using whatever medium (puppets, Lego figures, etc.), just not people. (Submission as unlisted YouTube link).

Send your entry to Miss E Hodgkiss, Latin Teacher by Monday 28 April.  The 10 best entries in each category will be put forward to the national competition.
