Science investigations with Years 5 & 6
Year 6 have been busy in Science this half term. They have been looking at the classification of animals and particularly enjoyed looking at microorganisms under the microscopes. They also tested whether moisture levels affect the growth rate of mould on bread.
Meanwhile, Year 5 have been investigating Forces, employing a variety of experiments. They made different-sized parachutes to test if surface area affected the rate of a fall, and learnt about how air resistance works. They also experimented with water resistance and investigated whether the shape of modelling clay affected the rate of a fall through water.
They have now moved onto Electricity and have been testing what factors can cause a circuit to be incomplete.
