U11 Hockey Tournament

Lichfield's young hockey players were in action last week in the annual Staffordshire U11 tournament.  Both the girls' and boys' teams took part, competing against teams from all over the county. 

The boys finished 3rd, missing out on qualification for the Midlands competition by just one point after some great performances, which saw them conceding just one goal all day, against eventual winners Newcastle.  It all came down to the final game against Birchfield but, despite almost constant pressure, the boys were unable to score the all-important goal which would have secured the runners-up spot.

The girls had three good games against Newcastle, Denstone and St Edwards and although they were unable to secure any wins this time, they competed well against some very strong opposition.
