U13 & U14 Boys' Hockey Tournament
LCS recently headed to the annual In2 Midlands Hockey Tournament at NULS. Due to face some strong competition, the U13/14 boys were nevertheless full of excitement and hope.
In their first game against The Friary, the lads had to defend from the first whistle, with a brilliant display from Benedict and Louis. The team continued to dig in deep, with some great saves from Ben in goal. Halfway through the game, Jude pounced on a loose ball and was able to slot it home to take a 1-0 lead, which they held onto to finish winners.
In their second match, against a very strong NULS team, the lads once again held their own in defence, limiting the opposition to only 2 goals to nil. In their third game, the team continued their heroic defensive showing, with the back line of Louis, Alex, Benedict and Oliver restricting WGS’ attacking players, as LCS were able to hold onto a 0-0 draw.
In their final game, fatigue started to set in, as LCS only had one sub, and unfortunately the lads found it tricky to stop a very skillful and impressive Queen Mary’s attack, with the game finishing 0-6. A brilliant and courageous display of defending with some impressive technical skills from Thomas. A massive well done!
Players of the tournament: Benedict and Thomas.
