U15 Rugby v Bishop Walsh
On Thursday in Week 7, the U15 Rugby team travelled to Bishop Walsh school for their first game of the season following some previous cancellations. The boys who have been keen to get some competitive rugby this season were raring to go!
LCS began the stronger team and played some great attacking and powerful rugby. Early tries from Jasper and Ben, both converted by Devan gave LCS a 0-14 lead. Bishop Walsh fought their way back into the game with some good weaving runs, 5-14. A super individual try from Devan, stretched LCS’ lead 5-19. Bishop Walsh rallied and some of the stronghold that LCS had on the game slipped away. Two further tries from took the game into halftime 17-19.
A settling team talk from leaders and Mr Turner led the team into the second half knowing what to do. It wasn’t long before a second try from Jasper, who crashed over the try line from short range extended LCS’ lead, 17-26. The game became well-balanced as both sides created opportunities to score, but solid defence from both teams kept it a stalemate. A darting run following a great kick chase from the Bishop Walsh bought the scores closer once again, 24-26. LCS started to play a little smarter and managed the game well as bodies started to tire. Tries from Samuel, Ben, and two from Devan, put the game beyond Bishop Walsh, finishing 45-24.
A super team performance, well done boys!
