Ukelele Club in the local community
Jaymie and Poppy (both Year 11) have launched a Ukelele Club with members of the Lichfield Friends 2 Friends group, a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities, other vulnerable adults and their carers.
They have 7 members attending their club and have started by focusing on how to hold and strum the Ukelele and how to play their first 4 chords. Their workshop was a tremendous success with members thoroughly enjoying getting to grips with the challenge of playing an instrument they'd never played before.
Jaymie and Poppy were outstanding teachers and ambassadors for LCS - their workshop was fun and informative. They will be working on learning some easy to play pop songs and seasonal repertoire for the F2F Christmas concert.
If any other students (particularly those in Y11 and above) would like to volunteer to support projects in art, food, music, history or anything else you're interested in that would make for a good weekly workshop - let Mr Chamberlin know - it is tremendously rewarding to be involved with community groups.
