Year 1 support Guide Dogs

Year 1 have been very busy with their charity work this half term. In PSHE they have been learning all about the fantastic work the Guide Dog charity does in and around the UK and via its international divisions. Year 1 also baked more than 200 dog biscuits to sell to raise funds of over £50 for the charity.

Year 1 recently had some VIPs guests – Harper and Tilly with their owners Annette and Helen. Annette answered all of the children's questions about the dogs and the work they do for the charity – did you know it costs £55-60,000 to train one guide dog?  The children enjoyed playing with the dogs in class and learning about the training upon which the puppies will be soon be embarking.
