Year 4 boys embrace the haka
Year 4 boys have taken to dance with gusto and vigor learning the haka.
Traditionally, the Māori people of New Zealand performed haka to display a tribe's pride, strength and unity. The haka is commonly known as a war dance used to fire up warriors on the battlefield, but it's also a customary way to celebrate, entertain, welcome and challenge visiting tribes. The boys looked at the origins of it and how it is performed in sport today. They subsequently created their very own versions of the haka to perform to each other.
